About 24th Borstal
Our Scout Group is one of the oldest groups in Rochester which is part of the the Medway Towns Scout District. We are located next to the Pilgrim School, in Warwick Crescent, Borstal, immediately under the coastal bound carriageway of the M2 Motorway Bridge as it crosses the River Medway on its way to Canterbury and the Kent Coast. See our History page for more about The Group.
We have a lively Beaver Colony for those boys and girls aged 6 to 8 years. Our thriving Cub Pack takes them then until they are between 10 and 10½ years of age. When old enough they move up to the Scout Troop where they continue to play the 'Scouting Game' until they are teenagers aged 14yrs. After their birthday they can join the Explorer Unit where they stay until they are 18, after which there is the option to become members of the Scout Network, retaining their links with The Group and the wider Movement, until the age of 25.
Every section aims to provide the best scouting possible to its members and there is a highly dedicated team of leaders and helpers in each one working very hard to make sure that this happens.
