Fundraising

Our most consistent source of fund is by subscription (£35 per term per child) but without extra fundraising the range of activities and events we can offer our scouting sections is limited.

We run a number of fundraising activities throughout the year, each of which helps to boost the number of activities we are able to offer. The help of parents is vital in these activities to ensure that they can be carried out often enough to make a real difference.

Funds raised through activities such as Group contribution from subs, jumble sales, quiz nights, barbecues, the Heavy Horse Show and bag packing help to pay for things that include:

• the maintenance of the scout hut and grounds
• community projects and fundraising for local and national charities such as Porchlight and Shelterbox
• participation in district events
• participation in world jamborees.
