Rags To Riches - Clothing Collection

1st January 2011

Explorer Scouts decided that a good way to raise funds for our trip would be to collect old clothes and turn these Rags into Riches. so three collections were organised at the Thomas Aveling, Fort Pitt Girls and Sir Joseph Williamson's Mathematical School by Explorer Scouts who attended them.

Whilst the results were in themselves rather disappointing, especially for those who did all of the hard work; they were boosted last Friday (20th May) when Amanda Dean our Beaver Leader, organised a collection at the Medway Council Offices at Gun Wharf where she works. She collected 407.3 kilos of old clothes from her colleagues, which was turned into £169.55p by 'Phil the Bag' our Rag Collector.

Well done to everyone concerned and many thanks to all of our donators for helping us achieve our target.
